At the June 2009 meeting of the Weiser Forest Fire Wardens Association, formation of a district wide Wildfire Support Crew was discussed and a meeting was later arranged to discuss the matter further.  Toward the end of June, 2009, a letter was sent to every warden in District 18 informing them of a desire to start a support crew from within the district.  A meeting was held on July 13 at the Locust Valley Fire Control Station to determine if there was an interest in pursuing such a venture.  There was a clear consensus to organize the crew and Bob Llewellyn, organizer, said he would continue with the organization process.  One of the requirements for a support crew is that they have to become incorporated.  The Schuylkill County Bar Association was contacted and our intentions were explained to them.  Attorney Stanley Burke, a bar association trustee, volunteered his services to perform all of the legal work for free.
